MOROKA SWALLOWS 1
0 GOLDEN ARROWS
Competition: PSL
Date: Tuesday ,18 March2014
Venue: Dobsonville Stadium
Kick-off: 19:30pm
Lamontville Golden Arrows have come away empty-handed from their Absa Premiership clash at Moroka Swallows after a 1-0 defeat at the Dobsonville Stadium on Tuesday night.
Striker Vuyisile Wana scored the only goal of the game for Swallows in the second half as Abafana Bes’thende battled to break down the tight Birds defence.
The visitors can count themselves unlucky after hitting the woodwork, but slipped to fourth defeat in a row.
Bongi Ntuli had a good chance to open the scoring for Arrows midway through the first half, but he could only direct his header straight at Greg Etafia in the Swallows goal.
And Arrows were desperately unlucky not to take the lead just past the half-hour mark when Chris Katongo’s free-kick cannoned off the crossbar and away to safety.
But it Swallows who would break the deadlock, Lefa Tsutsulupa’s free-kick was headed home by Wana.
Arrows pushed forward in search of the equalizer but came up against stubborn resistance from the home side, who repelled all of their attacks.
Next up for Arrows is their home Nedbank Cup Last 16 clash with Moroka Swallows at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday night.
