Lamontville Golden Arrows have been defeated 5-1 at Athlone Stadium, by Cape Town All Stars.

With the first whistle, Golden Arrows went on the attack, passing the ball around an looking for a gap to open their account for the evening. Sibiya made a run into the box, beat his opponent, made the shot, but it was wide. Play continued back and forth on the park until the 10th minute, when Cape Town All Stars played a long ball onto one of their running players, who took a shot, but he too was denied, after a save by Mbaeva. All Stars take advantage being on the front foot, and immediately find themselves one-on-one with Mbaeva. All Stars shoot, Mbaeva saves, but the ball goes through his legs, Katuikua, having to clear the ball, resulting in a corner.

The corner is taken, crossed into the box, Mabaeva making the initial save but the rebound finds the boot of an All Starts player, Patel and he puts the ball in the back of the net taken All Stars to a 1-0 lead. Arrows retaliate and go on the attack, Sikhakane takes the ball upfield, makes a run inside, shoots but its wide. Sibiya then goes forward, mkes a cross intot he box, All Stars fail to clear the ball, and it lands at C.Cele’s feet who blasts it wide.

30 minutes in Cape Town All Stars go on the attack again, they play a cross to the far post, where one of their players lays it back to Patel who puts it in the back of the net. 3 minutes later, it’s the chance of Lamontville Golden Arrows to retaliate, Mkhize crosses the ball, finds Zwane outside the box, he shoots and equalises with a cracker.

At this stage Golden Arrows make the first of their technical substitutions, putting in Hotto for C.Cele. With extra time been called in the last minutes of the first half, All Stars play the ball to Patel in the box, who slides it past Mbaeve to get his hat-trick.

Going into the changerooms at the half time break, Lamontville Golden Arrows found themselves 3-1 down to the home side.

At the beginning of the second half, Lamontville Golden Arrows make the second of their substitutions when they replace Sibiya with Sibeko. Hendriks had an opportunity to score off a free kick but was denied after the All Stars keeper just managed to get finger tips to the ball to push it over the bar. Golden Arrows found themselves dominating play but were failing to convert. Hotto played a great ball through to Mdletshe who put it in the back of the net but it was judged off side.

All Stars then scored their forth game after going on the attack, their player shoots and scores. In the 75 minute of play, they managed their fifth goal off a penalty, sealing their win.
