Competition: PSL
Date: Wednesday , 11 May 2016
Venue: Princess Magogo Stadium
Kick-off: 19:30pm

Lamontville Golden Arrows opened the scoring just seconds before the end of the first half against Jomo Cosmos off the right boot of Musa Bilankulu in a competitive game that saw both teams attacking the defensive lines for 90 minutes.

In the first 45, both teams worked to get the ball in a position that would allow them to score. Jomo Cosmos were unlucky when they had a shot that beat Mbaeva but found the upright in what was there most promising movement of the first half, while Abafana Bes’thende failed to capitalise on a number of movements that saw shots from Mhango, Sibeko and Shitolo missing the mark.

The hard work paid off though when an attacking movement that saw Hotto with an initial shot, saw Bilankulu on the edge of the small box, and he placed a rebound ball into the bottom left hand side of the goals to give the hosts the lead.

The second half saw a determined Cosmos come onto the park and show their intent on scoring an equaliser against the home side. They created a number of scoring opportunities but could just not get the finishing up to scratch.

Abafana Bes’thende showed great determination in defending their goals as well, and put their bodies in the line of fire when Cosmos came on the attack.

A number of well played set moves saw Abafana Bes’thende play into the last third and create opportunities as well. But they could just not get the final shot in to extend their lead.

There is now a break until the 21 May, when the teams travels to Pretoria to meet AmaTuks in the final fixture of the 2015/16 season.
