Siyanda ‘Mangethe’ Zwane, born in 1985 on the 4th June in Sobantu, Pieternaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal, started his football career at Lamontville Golden Arrows development and is currently playing in his seventh season for Lamontville Golden Arrows .

The U15 and U17 teams have both finished their soccer season and have both placed well on the final standings for their leagues. It is truly inspiring how positive the level and maturity of the football is in these junior sides and it is encouraging to know that these players will progress through the ranks and bolster the pool of eligible players for the senior teams in coming years.

Our game against Freestate Stars on the 26th of Spetember, was physical, as we had expected. We were well prepared in our defensive organisation which had been made stronger with the return to of Joseph Musonda.

Lamontville Golden Arrows FC  and the University of KwaZulu-Natal Sports Science department recently launched the initiative ‘Golden Arrows Meals’ or GAMes. This initiative has, over the past three weeks, grown from providing food for one age group per week, to now cover all three age groups. This has been a great achievement in such a short period of time.

The Lamontville Golden Arrows U17 team have won the Annual Engen Knock-Out-Challenge 2012 against the same team they met in the final in 2010 and won then too. This is a come-back as well for the team after being knocked out of this competition last year in the semi-finals.

The Derby on Saturday left us all reflecting how awful the game played looked, and has had me trying to find some positive points in it. What's disappointing is that we were well prepared mentally and started the game positively, and in control of the game. The turning point mentally for us was when we scored the goal, and it was disallowed to all of our surprise! 

The Junior Sthende’s are through to the finals of their Cup Tournament after a very good win over Juventus at Danville yesterday.

Lamontville Golden Arrows have earned their first Absa Premiership point of the season after they played to a 0-0 draw with Durban rivals AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday evening.

Luyolo Mapolisa has signed with Golden Arrows on a one year contract in the last minutes of the signing period. Negotiations started on Wednesday and the deal was finalised on Friday.
