The juniors returned to the pitch today in their first fixture after their July break against Coronation.
Both the teams won, the under 17's winning their game 13 - 0 and playing a very good game on the park. This will help them maintain their ranking on the league board and gives them an additional 3 points to add to their tally. The biggest positive about this score is the weight that the goal difference carries, it brings us into a very positive position with the top
4 places being so close in points. Today saw outstanding performances from the boys and although, surprisingly, there were no hat-tricks in the goal scoring, there were outstanding performances once again by Dreyer (2), Zothani(2), M Cele(2), Small(1), Msimango(1) and Buthelezi (1). The team is gaining in confidence considerably, and this win is just what is needed after the break to allow the boys to get into a winning frame of mind and maintain it until the end of the league. With the tally of goals being so high, we need also mention that three of the goals were own goals by Coronation.
Not only were the under 17's victorious, but Lamontville Golden Arrows U15 team also won their league game as well. These boys have really impressed and have been so consistent on the park, no matter who they play. It's refreshing to see a team so well balanced and being able to move the ball around, not trying to play as individuals but as a team. The unity shown by these guys in the team is something that we all admire considerably. It's a cornerstone in their success to date and if they can maintain this , we are sure that they will win their league.
