MNGQITHI EXPLAINS SANGWENI'S ABSENCE 01.12.2009
Golden Arrows head coach Manqoba Mngqithi tells KickOff.com the real reason why Siyabonga Sangweni has missed the last two games.
The Bafana Bafana defender missed the games against Jomo Cosmos and Platinum Stars, amid speculation that Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United are fighting for his services.

Speculation is also rife that Mngqithi has left Sangweni out of the team for the past two matches, because of a pending move, the same way he did with Abia Nale before the latter joined Chiefs, but Mngqithi says he has his reasons to put Sangweni on the stands.

“He’s out of the team, because he had a terrible game against Swallows (when Arrows lost 3-1) and I tried Musa Bilankulu and Joseph Musonda in central defence and they have been doing well,” Mngqithi explains.

The MTN8 Cup winner also tells KickOff.com that if there is a team willing to pay what the Abafana Bes’thende management demands, then Sangweni will leave.

“What I have heard is rumours, but if there is something concrete on the table and they are willing to fork out what management wants, then he will go, but if not, then he will finish the season with us,” he says.

Sangweni, for his part, says he is waiting for management to brief him on any offers put on the table.
