The Diski ‘Sthendes drew with Orlando Pirates this afternoon in a game that was dominated by midfield play. Both sides seemed to lack fire in the 90 minutes but it was Pirates keeper who managed to keep his team in the game.

The game, played at Sinaba Stadium in front of a 13 000 strong crowd, had moments of entertainment, but both teams seemed off pace in their performances, and in what is normally a high scoring tournament, saw neither managing to get the ball into the back of the net in the full 90.

Both sides did create opportunities, and when they decided to push up into the opponents last third, each looked dangerous, but the lack of finishing was a contributor to the lack of goals. The Pirates keeper had his hands full with Golden Arrows attack and managed to save the game for his team, but luck was just not on Sibeko’s side either and the number of opportunities he had should have seen him score at least a brace, but it was just not his day.

Golden Arrows tried late in the second half for a breakthrough, but they just never seemed to be able to beat the keeper.

The team slips to second on the log behind Mamelodi Sundowns, only by goal difference and will take the break between now and January 17th , when they meet Jomo Cosmos, to work on aspects of their game that Coach Vilikazi feels is lacking.

Although full points were not brought home, it is still a positive to note that this Diski team is the only team in the PSL Reserve League to have not yet lost a game.
