Royal Am came away with bragging rights after this evenings KZN Derby at Chatsworth Stadium.
The home side opened the scoring in the 7th minute of the game, Stoffels the goal scorer and we did well to fight back for an equaliser in the 32nd minute. Cele did well to win the ball at the back passed to Ndwandwe who layed back to Mutizwa, he tried to put Ndwandwe through but there wasnt a clear shot and the ball was deflected. Cele who was following up the play found himself in the right place and ended up finishing the play by scoring.
After fighting back well we then unfortunately allowed the home side to regain the lead just 2 minutes before the break.
The second half of play was the better for us as far as ball retention was concerned. The boys did well to spread the ball, seeking opportunities to score again, however we could not finish in front of the goal. We had an opportunity to equalise off a penalty in the 76th minute but were denied by a well timed dive from the Royal Am keeper.
It was then Sera, who scored in the 89th minute for Royal Am, who put a points result out of reach for us.
A number of opportunities were created tonight but we need to polish up our finishing if we want to come away with points from games.
