It was an intense battle for points tonight at Emirates Airline Park. Both Bloemfontein Celtics and us were wanting to secure maximum points from the outing but ended up settling for a point each after full time.
From the first minute of the game it was clear that both teams were going to try and determine the game plan and then counter that going forward. This ended up in a midfield battle with neither side backing down to allow each other space to attack.
We had a number of shots on target, with Parusnath having a good chance, but he was unable to get enough power into his shot to beat the keeper. Once again, Mlungwana did well between the sticks and had a couple of shot stoppers for us and kept us in the game.
One point keeps us in slim contention for a Top 8, but there are a number fo variables that will need to fall into place for this to happen.
The team will use the next couple of days to prepare for the season finale against Chippa United at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
