Our Reserve side started their 2017/2018 season today with a game against Jahman at the Moses Mabhida outer fields at 15h00.

The preparations that have been done in the pre-season paid off as they walked away victors, with a 1-0 win over Jahman.

The team has been preparing for this season for a number of weeks under the guidance of Coach Lindani Shezi. It has been a difficult time as many of the youngsters have been involved in writing exams, and not all have been able to make every practice.

Coach Shezi is however confident that the youngsters are more than ready to take on the season.

Although unable to have a full squad training, he has used this to his advantage. Using the opportunity to concentrate on smaller groups of youngsters and testing different combinations of players.

The squad have played a number of friendly warm up games in the last month.

These have helped to increase the fitness level of the players as well as see how they react in game situations, allowing Coach Shezi to fine tune his combinations based on differing game strategies.

A win from the first outing is a positive start from the side, and it will be a confidence boost that all the preparations have not been in vain.

We look forward to seeing how this group of youngsters do for the remainder of the season and wish them well in their campaign.
