Ashley Makhanya is an experienced South African football coach and leader with a career spanning over two decades in player development, coaching and technical leadership. His coaching journey began at Bidvest Wits, where he served in various youth coaching roles and contributed to the development of young footballers.
Makhanya later joined TS Galaxy Football Club, taking on several responsibilities including Head of Youth and Head Coach, where he played a key role in establishing and strengthening the club’s youth structures. In 2025, he joined Gomora United as Head Coach and Technical Director.
He holds SAFA-CAF coaching licences, including CAF B and CAF A, as well as international coaching qualifications from the World Football Academy and KNVB Dutch FA.
Makhanya joined Golden Arrows, bringing with him a wealth of coaching experience, technical expertise and a strong track record in player development as he looks to contribute to the club’s continued growth and success.
