Kick-off: 18:00pm
Lamontville Golden Arrows booked their place in the second round of the Nedbank Cup after a 1-0 victory over Polokwane City at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday.
Bongi Ntuli scored the only goal of the game 15 minutes from time to give the home team a deserved victory and a second win over City in as many weeks.
The opening 20 minutes was quiet, before Jabulani Nene forced City goalkeeper Kgothatso Mashia into an excellent save with a powerful header.
Manti Moholo had an excellent opportunity minutes later when the goalkeeper spilled the ball, but the midfielder could only put the ball wide of an empty net.
Deon Hotto was the next to try his luck as Arrows dominated possession and chances, but Mashia made another good low save and the teams went into the break at 0-0.
Co-coaches Shaun Bartlett and Bheka Phakathi were forced into a change at the break with veteran goalkeeper Arthur Bartman unable to continue and replaced by youngster Nkosi Gumede.
Kgotso Polelo was teed-up by Ntuli for a shot on goal but could not find the target, before the goal finally did arrive for the home side.
Ntuli was played in over the top and he raced onto the pass and supplied a composed finish.
Next up for Arrows is a meeting with University of Pretoria in the Absa Premiership on March 1.
