We have travelled to Polokwane City tonight and been beaten 3-1 in a tough match against the northern based side.
The home team came out guns firing against us and scored in the second minute from a free kick after Phiri had an unfair challenge on Maluleke. The City player took the shot and scored from the mark to give them a goal lead after 2 minutes of play. They dominated the game and we only managed to settle after Bilankulu converted a penalty in the 10th minute after Lamola was bought down in the box.
The remainder of the half was a well contested affair, with each team making good use of the ball and playing into the last 3rd to create opportunities. Fortunate for City it was Maluleke who would get his brace and give the home side the lead just 2 minutes before the break off an assist from Mngomezulu.
It was then Mngomezulu who took the home side 3-1 up in the 51st minute after Chigova gave him a long ball from the goals. Mngomezulu beat Mzava and managed to slot the ball past Gumede for the home sides third goal for the night.
We attempted some changes off the bench with Fikizolo replacing Lamola l and Mutizwa coming in for Dikgacoi, but it was just not enough of an injection to convert our advances up front to goals. We had a number of attempts from Mahachi and Sibeko and a close header call from Msowoya, but it was not our night.
We return to Durban to prepare for Fridays clash against Masandwana at Princess Magogo Stadium at 8pm and urge all of our home support to get to the stadium and get behind the side as we begin to get to the final stages of the season.
It is now that home support is so important to boost the morale of the players as they keep fighting for a Top 8 finish in the season.
