Abafana Bes’thende lost their final game of the season to AmaTuks in Pretoria 2-1 in a nailbiting finish to the PSL for the 2015/16 season this afternoon.
The home side were in a do-or-die situation to avoid relegation, and managed to do so with a first half goal in the 29th minute followed by another goal by Kebede as he scored from a direct free kick to give AmaTuks a defendable lead going into the break.
Lamontville Golden Arrows needed a draw at least to see them finish in the Top 8 ahead of SuperSport United. But they could only pull one back in the extra 3 minutes of the second half against a determined Tuks side.
The afternoons games also saw Jomo Cosmos relegated as Maritzburg United defeated them 3-1 in Olen Park.
The result was not what Arrows were hoping for, however, Larsen remains confident of his players and the positive form shown by a number of junior players blooded in the last quarter of games this season.
It has given the side some depth and there will be a number of positive aspects to build on coming back to pre-season training ahead of the next season.
We would like to thank our supporters over the past season and look forward to a new season in the months to come.
