Our Diski boys have walked away with maximum points this morning after beating Chippa United 3-2 at Wolfson Stadium. The win means that they still remain unbeaten in the competition and in contention to take top position with just 4 games left to play

The home side opened the scoring after 31 minutes, when Cele went on the attack for Chippa, and beat Goss in the net to put his side on the board and in the lead. It took Lamontville Golden Arrows just 10 minutes to find the equaliser, after Fikizolo found the back of the net after some great supporting play from Sibeko. This took the teams to a 1-all draw going into the break.

Just 12 minutes into the second half, some great pressure from Golden Arrows saw Conwood score an own goal after Sibeko and Fikizolo went on the attack, creating pressure and confusion in the box. Sibeko crossed and panic resulted in the own goal, giving the Diski ‘Sthendes the lead.

This encouraged the players, and another 10 minutes later, another opportunity arose, with Nzama supplying a high pass into the box, Fikizolo went up and scored with a bicycle kick taking the team up to 3-1 with only 5 minutes left.

Chippa were awarded a penalty after Mabizela accidentally handled the ball in the box, it was taken and converted by replacement Mkhonto and seconds before the full 90, managed to pull 1 back. The ref called the game, ensuring the win for the Diski team.

The team play at home next Sunday with a midday kick-off of 12:00 at King Zwelithini stadium against Platinum Stars. It would be great to have as much home support as possible to show the players how much we appreciate their efforts in the competition.
