Our Diski side have beaten Plainum Stars this morning in a great MDC battle at Royal Bafokeng Stadium.
It was a tough first half on very hot conditions. Both teams were making good use of the ball trying to open the scoring. Sibeko played a good game and should have scored in the first half but could not finish and take the lead. In the dying minutes of the first half of extra time, Hlongwane found the back of the net with a well placed shot to take the lead going into the break.
The battle continued into the secong half, with Platinum Stars fighting to try and secure an equaliser. This created an action packed half, with the Our defence holding strong and maintaining the lead into the full 90 minutes. Nxele had a chance to give the team a 2 goal lead but Platinum Stars managed to clear it off the line.
The team now have a break until 9th October when they meet Highlands Park at Makhulong Stadium.
