GOLDEN ARROWS VS POLOKWANE CITY | DISKI 2015/16

The Diski ‘Stendes have defeated Polokwane City 4-1 at King Zwelethini Stadium.

The first half was calculated from the home side, with the players looking for each other and connecting well as they dissected the Polokwane game plan and took advantage of the gaps that they created.

This resulted in Nzama getting the opening goal in the 18th minute after he slotted the ball into the back of the net after Seth Parusnath took a free kick from the right hand side of the field. This resulted in Polokwane City taking almost the full remainder of the half to consolidate, allowing Arrows to attack at will at their goals. Unfortunately the finishing was not there for the Diski ‘Stendes and they were unable to capitalise on the opportunities they created.

Polokwane City then came back hard in the last minute of additional time in the first half and scored an equaliser to enable them to go into the change room with a little confidence.

That was short lived though and 3 minutes after the second half resumed it was Molefe who nudged the ball in after Seth Parusnath placed the ball into the box from another free kick. The resilience of the visitors seemed to crumble and this allowed Quincy Ngcobo and Mjoli to each score for the Diski ‘Stendes and take a 3 goal lead over the visiting team.

Polokwane City never came back, and although they tried to create opportunities we closed down in Golden Arrows last 3rd..Abafana Bes’thende are still at the top of the log and still unbeaten. There next game is a home game on the 1st of November against Kaizer chiefs, kick-off at 12:00. At King zwelithini stadium, we urge all supporters to come down and support the players.
