GOLDEN ARROWS 1

1 KAIZER CHIEFS

Competition: Multichoice Diski
Date: Sunday,01 November 2015
Venue: King Zwelethini Stadium
Kick-off: 12:00pm

In an exciting Multichoice Diski Challenge fixture today, Lamontville Golden Arrows drew to Kaizer Chiefs at King Zwelethini Stadium.

The first half of the game belonged Lamontville Golden Arrows and they came onto the park with the intention of remaining the only unbeaten team in the league. With the first couple of minutes played at ease from both sides, Sibeko broke the visitors defence and scored the teams only goal for day when he played up the left of the field, beat the defender and put the ball in the back of the net. This fired the side and for the majority of the half dominated in both possession and field play keeping the visitors on their toes and looking for opportunities.

Kaizer Chiefs were awarded a penalty in the half after their player was taken down in the box, but their shot hit the poles to keep them 1-0 down going in to the second half. Just before the break, Mabizela was badly injured and suffering a concussion, was not returning to the field for the second 45 of the day. This saw Jabulani Ncobeni come on the park for the home side after the break.

The second half started off tougher for the Diski ‘Sthendes, and they battled to get the possession and ball that they enjoyed in the first. Kaizer Chiefs were attacking where they could and the home side were defending hard. This increased the foul count and 25 minutes before the end of the game, replacement Ncobeni received his marching orders after his second bookable offence after coming onto the field.

Kaizer Chiefs took advantage of Lamontville Golden Arrows being a player down, and attacked relentlessly at the home sides goals. Goss did well to keep the ball from the net, but a cross from the right by Bunting floated into the box and Chiefs managed to header the ball in to score the equaliser by Ndulula.

Abafana Bes’thende’s defence held strong though and after full time, the team ensured that they remain unbeaten in the MDC. They return to King Zwelithini Stadium next weekend Sunday 08 November when they meet Bidvest Wits at midday again.kick-off at 12:00
