We came away with all 3 points this afternoon in our clash with Supersport United at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
The first 45 saw both teams going toe to toe and delivering equal scoring opportunities but neither were able to find the back of the net.
Mutizwa and Lamola had some creative play, getting into a favourable scoring range, but Lamola dragged the pass wide of the mark just 10 minutes before half time.
SuperSport responded and we scrambled to clear the ball off the line as Nhlapo had a shot at target.
The second half of the game increased in tempo. SuperSport were denied by Mlungwana shortly after the break after he palmed a header attempt away from Grobler.
Minutes later we responded , Makhubela had a shot at target saved by Williams. But the keeper did not hold on, allowing Mutizwa to have a shot. This hit the crossbar, fell almost straight down and off Fleurs an into the goal.
We had a number of attacking plays after this, none of which were any real threat to the visitors. We did however have to defend well an Mlungwana made a great save from a powerful strike from Mahachi late in the game.
The team prepare this week for the first outing in the Nedbank Cup, which will be played at Dobsonville Stadium next weekend against Vaal University of Technology.
