A determined team effort saw us secure a win and Durban Derby bragging rights tonight at Pricess Magogo Stadium against AmaZulu FC.
The game delivered all that it promised to be with an action packed performance from both sides. Our Durban neighbours never give us an easy game, and tonight was no different as they matched us in pace and tempo.
We showed early intentions though from the kick off with Mutizwa firing over the target. This seemed to set the mood for the game and we kept pushing until getting our breakthrough in the 26th minute as Mmodi found the back of the net off a beautiful assist from Ndwandwe.
We took the lead into the break and managed to keep it for the remaining 45 minutes of play. The second stanza could only be summed up as an epic battle though. The whole team shone in their respective play and each man on the field could have been awarded the man of the match.
A well deserved win ahead of the break for the MTN8. We return to the field on 3 September as we face Chippa United at home.
