A last minute free kick saw us clinch 3 points away from home against Baroka FC tonight.

The game was equal pegged from start to finish at the Peter Mokaba Stadium with both sides doing all that they could to get an advantage over their opponents.

But nothing seemed to go right for either side in the final third. We both played some well executed plays that saw advantage being obtained in the final third of the field, but neither team could convert the chances created.

Both sides did well at the back when defending and Sibisi and Mathiane had a number of times where they put their bodies on the line. Baroka did well at times to get past them though and on play saw Mathiane committing a hand ball offence in the box.

Baroka, awarded the penalty, called on Vusi Sibiya to attempt the conversion but he misjudged it and put the ball wide of the mark.

We were determined to come away with the 3 points, and with minutes to spare were awarded a free kick just outside the box.

Venter took responsibility for the set piece, struck the ball well and it found the back of the net, beating Chipezeze.

The home side attempted to fight back for the equaliser, and almost managed to tie the game up but were in the end, not successful because of some great defensive work by our back four.

A good start on the road, and we will aim to continue the positive result as we face off with Black Leopards on Saturday night.
