We failed to score tonight as we lost to Orlando Pirates by 2 goals at Princess Magogo Stadium
This is the first time since 2019 that the Sea Robbers have won against us, and it will make the return match in the new year all the more competitive.
We failed to fire on all cylinders in the first half, and allowed the visitors to penetrate our defense with a degree of ease right from the kick off. Their first goal was scored in just the 6th minute when Saleng found the back of the net for the Soweto side.
They then kept pressure on us and in the 24th minute doubled their lead, Saleng once again the scorer.
We made a concerted effort to pull something back, but none of our shots rattled the keeper enough and we went into the break goalless.
Returning to the field, the boys looked more composed and produced some promising plays, but we were just not able to convert any of the chances created and seemed to be playing more defensively than we normally would.
We will need to pull together and produce some points on Tuesday night next week as we take on Royal Am at Chatsworth Stadium.
