PITSO DLADLA | HEAD COACH

Born in Tongaat, KwaZulu-Natal, Pitso Dladla began his football journey in the lower divisions after ending his playing career in the ABC Motsepe League. He first coached Hambanathi Young Destroyers before balancing his passion for football with a full-time teaching career. In 2018, he made the bold decision to leave teaching and dedicate himself fully to coaching. Armed with a CAF C Licence and additional Dutch and Brazilian coaching qualifications, Dladla gained valuable experience as an assistant coach at Richards Bay FC and later took on a technical role at Durban City FC.

Dladla’s breakthrough came during the 2025/26 season when he was appointed interim coach of Durban City FC amidst administrative challenges. Against all odds, he guided the newly promoted side to a historic Nedbank Cup victory, defeating TS Galaxy in the final to secure the club’s first-ever major trophy. His tactical acumen also ensured Durban City finished in the top eight of the Premiership, earning qualification for the MTN8 tournament. These achievements elevated his reputation and made him one of the most sought-after young coaches in South African football.

In June 2026, Lamontville Golden Arrows appointed Dladla as their new head coach following the departure of Manqoba Mngqithi. He inherits a team that finished sixth in the previous season and faces the challenge of building on that success. His appointment signals a fresh era for Abafana Bes’thende.
